 | Search |
- You can search for an IP address, a MAC address, a
(may be fully qualified) DNS name (host, alias, MX or mail
role), or a group name.
- The '*' character is authorized in IP addresses
(192.168.*, 2001:db8:*), MAC addresses (00:01:02:*) or in
names (*.example.com, www.*.com).
- The use of '*' in IP or MAC addresses is allowed only if
the beginning of the search string identifies the type (e.g.
192.* ou 2001:* for IP adresses, 0b:* for MAC adresses).
So, *.255 is not recognized as a generic query for an IP
address.
- Warning: when using '*' in IP addresses, be aware that
your pattern is searched as a text, which can lead to
surprising results since the match is performed against
the canonical format of IP addresses in database (e.g.
'2001:0db8:*' and '2001:db8:0:0:0:0:0:*' will not match
'2001:db8::1').
